PHC preseason game

EDMONTON — On Wednesday, Sept 6, the Puckaneers will host a preseason opener against the NCHL’s Blackjacks. The game is tentatively set for 10:45 PM at Callingwood.

C.Virga and K.Wachter’s loyalty will be tested as they appear on both roster. Will it be a friendly warm-up to the season, or will the defections lead to a bloodbath fueled by betrayal?

Puckaneers Drilled by Toothwork in Round 2

TERWILLEGAR REC CENTRE — The Puckaneers Cinderella summer playoff run came to a grinding halt Thursday with your rag-tag bunch of hockey misfits falling 5-2 to Toothwork Titans.

PHC got off to a good start in Round 2, taking Game 1 by a score of 5-4. But Toothwork’s lineup, featuring several six-game ringers, proved too much for the Buccos in the final two games.

Toothwork will go on to face Teal Team Six in the finals, while PHC will prepare for the winter season, which is right around the corner.

While the loss is a disappointment, the Summer 2017 season was by far PHC’s most successful since switching to CCRHL from NCHL two years ago.

PHC finishes the season with a record of 13-9-1. That .587 winning percentage is the team’s best since Summer 2014.
